Ep83-The Cherubim's Sword-Fire on the Horizon-Ch 9

Show Notes:

The Cherubim’s Sword

We are no longer little children, and it appears that we cannot go back to those blissful days of innocence. Yet, why is it death to return to innocence and why would God block us from eating the fruit of the tree of life?

If Adam and Eve eat of the tree of life they will live forever with the immediate consequences of their choices— which in their present state consigns them to be cut off from God’s presence.

There are two lessons here. First, life is lived going forward.

Explain the variations: nostalgia, I’ll be happy when..., grudges

Second, God told Adam and Eve that if they ate the fruit they would physically die. And they did die—and so will we. But it does not have to be right now.

...And thus we see, that there was a time granted unto man to repent, yea, a probationary time, a time to repent and serve God. (Alma 42:3–4)
